You might as well build a house in the art room

Today I have a little story/experience for you guys.

At school, my second home is the art room. I know my way around there like the back of my hand, I'm allowed in when I want and I love being there. I've been there so much that some of my friends say ''you might as well build a house in the art room''.

I'm not in anyway upset by this, its funny. Certain people chose art as there option for fun. I chose art because its a passion and its my path career wise. I enjoy art more than any other subject. Don't tell anyone but... Mr Hamilton is my favourite teacher. There. Said it lol.

What is it about the art room?

On Mondays I have art 2nd period, followed by art club which is optional (at lunchtimes) everyday except Wednesdays (off site PE) and Friday (it doesn't run on Friday's but I have art last lesson on a Friday so no worries).

I feel at home there, because I'm doing things I want to do, fun things. There's freedom to express yourself in the form of art. It's relaxed, you can have a laugh and a joke about and you can also just be on your own and focus on your art work. So if your one of the people who tell me that I should live there then that's the explanation of me always being in there. Also I'd much rather be there than outside in the cold, sitting on the ground talking... If I had the chance every minute of everyday would be spent on my Blog, Art and my Favourite people.

Everyone has a hobby, passion or love for something. I am just using one of my talents to my advantage and seizing all available opportunities. So if you know you have that talent - USE IT.

Recent trips: The V&A - Photo post

Lately I've visited quite a few galleries and this post is just about sharing my experience. A few weeks ago I went to the Victoria and Albert museum in South Kensington (The place in London with all the museums). It's such an amazing museum and I loved it. Definitely want to go again. I was inspired by all the dresses and art there.

Just to let you know, the Victoria and Albert museum is a museum based on all types of art and design however they specialize a big deal on Fashion and that's why my Aunty and I took a trip there. We took the crowded underground from Leytonstone, changed somewhere (I don't know where, my Aunty was navigating because I don't like trains and I'm not good with them.

We looked at historical fashion.

More historical fashion

Fashion in sports

They had some beautiful stuff
in the stained glass exhibition.

Some religious wear and equipment

Stunning stained glass

Swords!

Enter if you dare...

Modern fashion, not sure but this was a well known brand.

Beach wear

Paintings
 Golden stuff

Stained glass

 Silver:

This was the jewelry section:

Historical stuff:

Thanks for watching. If you're ever in the Uk or live her, go to the V&A it's an amazing museum.

10,000 BLOG VIEWS!

As you can probably tell from the post title, today I hit 10,000 blog views and I'm incredibly happy about it. It so wouldn't have been possible without you guys! The people that read what I write.

It's coming up to a year since I started blogging and i've learnt an incredible amount of things and met loads of new people and it's been amazing. I started in January 2014, writing blog posts and having an empty feeling about them wondering if there was anyone on the other side lol. I can surely see now there is! I can't click on my blog 10,000 times all by myself!

Blogging is literally my life. I don't always blog everyday but when I am not blogging I am thinking about what I could blog about or what around me is inspiring for a blog post, so yeah it's either drawing or this and I love both of them equally.

Thank you 10,000 times for reading my blog, liking, sharing, beau blogging lol and just showing so much love! It's amazing how it's not really a hobby anymore and it feels like something I have to contribute in some way to the blog or I feel like something is wrong.

I haven't yet thought of it, but i'll definitely be doing a 10,000 views appreciation of some sort. Stay tuned and follow via GFC and Bloglovin. You can talk to me and a whole bunch of other great Bloggers over at Beau! (Search ''beau bloggers'') in my blog search box.

Toodlessssss! I'm so happy right now!

Weird Looks - Part two

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

So, what the heck happened to Laurey's? Basically. I was looking at a lot of blogs - not so popular ones (no offence or pun intended) and it turns out that a lot of them have the same blog template as me and it looks very similar.

Therefore I decided to change it up and personally I love my new template! It's cute, looks more like a diary and its neater.

The name: LOVEHEART DOODLES

I changed the name because I sat down and looked at my planning when I first made this blog a year ago and the aim of it was to just find others who liked what I liked and help them out, by writing what I know online. So I thought of some changed I could make and it came to my attention that I should change the blog name to something you guys will remember, this blog is not so much about me... it's about me delivering new content to you so ''Lauren Williams Illustrations'' wasn't really a wise name lol.

Anyway the new name is now Loveheart doodles, the web address changes to www.loveheartdoodles.blogspot.co.uk

Thank you for your time my Lovelies.

OMGGGGGG. WAIT.

QUICK MESSAGE/ANNOUNCEMENT/SPEAKING THINGY

I looked at my blog stats today and realized that today I had 240 blog views from the USA and 30 from the UK... I live in the UK and the USA view my blog more than anyone here! If you view my blog and live in the USA I wanna know you! Comment below and lets talk xo

Bye now <3 xo

How to get your Pro Sketchbook

Hey Artists! Today's post is especially for you guys giving you some good advice on how to get a great sketchbook.

Disclaimer: My sketchbook is not the best, my advice is just a few guidelines to help you out and there are many more ways of doing this.
An artists sketchbook is pretty much what defines them, it's the one thing someone can make a judgement about your style according to what they see. It should be a combination of your creativity and knowledge meaning that it's not all artwork. It should be a place for researching, planning and developing ideas. Things you should include:
  • Artwork (duh)
  • Diagrams
  • Plans
  • Examples of different media being used
  • Work from other artists
  • Annotation
Annotating - All annotating is, is simply explaining your drawing in the form of words.
  • Don't copy any facts or rubbish off the internet. When annotating your art work, say what's on your mind - your own thinking.
  • Explain your inspiration and where the ideas for your art come from
  • Don't praise your work too much, remember to say what's wrong and what could have gone better.
  • Write how you want to, just make sure others can read it. Try and use a bit of artist vocabulary.
  • If there is work in your sketchbook that isn't yours... credit it!
How to present your sketchbook
  • Buy a sketchbook with good quality paper
  • Don't hide your artwork - don't hide it with big titles, unnecessary borders and time consuming backgrounds.
That's what I think makes a good sketchbook! Thank you guys so much for reading x

All about my hair: Crochet Braids

This is an incredibly late post and it's about my crazy crochet hair! If you guys have seen me on instagram or twitter or any recent pictures you would have seen my hair! My crazy crochet hair! I absolutely love this hairstyle and it was a good change from usual braids.

I went to God First salon on Balls Pond Road, Dalston and it cost me £60. It was very time consuming... I arrived at 8.30, They finally started on me around 11 and finished around 5.

The final result was this:

Love the crazy, vibrant curls! I was really 50% about it when I first got it but I love them now, they're amazing! I get loads of comments about it - especially in school and when I went on holiday. If you are someone who experiments with black hair, then you might want to try this hairstyle. It takes confidence to try out big and bold hairstyles like this. It isn't really a weave or extensions... in your spare time watch a video on how they're done. Your hair is cornrowed as if you were about to sew in a weave and they hook on the hair onto the cornrow.

I'm soon to take out my Crochet braids because I did them on the 27th of September - coming up to 2 months. Next I might go for Box braids again because I miss not being noticed from the top of the road because I had small hair!

Thanks for reading xo
